Slay EVERY Day

The Kisses release from Simon Says Stamp is now available. And it sure is fun! I created two projects using the brand new Slay die set.

I stepped out of my comfort zone a bit and created this fun card. To start, I ink blended the following Distress Oxides onto a white, 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch panel: Kitsch Flamingo, Carved Pumpkin, and Squeezed Lemonade. The stencil I used was the Dare2BArtzy Sunburst Stencil. Next, I shifted the stencil and put Ranger Stickles Glitter Gel in Nebula onto the paper. I am absolutely in love with how this turned out! And to be honest, I’m not much of a sparkle girl, but this worked beautifully. That glitter gel is gorgeous!

Next, I die cut the shadow for the sentiment out of white cardstock. Then, I die cut the sentiment pieces twice out of bright pink cardstock. I adhered the letters to the shadow piece and then layered on the rest of the die cuts. I added white craft foam to the back of my die cut sentiment to add dimension, and adhered it to my background. Lastly, I adhered it to an A2 cardbase. How fun is this card?

For my second project, I created a full card front shaker. I generally do not have good luck with shaker cards, but this one turned out cute. It was my first time doing this type of shaker.

To create my card, I made the die cut sentiment exactly as I did for my first card. I like the added dimension from stacking additional letters on top of each other. I cut a piece of patterned cardstock (Lawn Fawn’s Hello Sunshine Remix 6×6 Paper Pack) to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches. Then, I cut acetate with Picket Fence Studio’s Full Card Front Shaker Die. I adhered 3 of the 4 sides to the back of my patterned background. Next, I added Trinity Stamps Rainbow Sherbert Stars and a sprinkle of gold bits from Honey Bee Stamps and sealed the last edge of the shaker. I glued the sentiment to the center of the acetate window and adhered the whole shaker to an A2 cardbase.

I LOVE this shaker combination with this sentiment.

I hope you will go check out the entire new Kisses release from Simon Says Stamp. It’s a lot of fun!
