Slimming Down

No, this isn’t a blog about weight loss tips, but feel free to leave me a comment with some advice (lol!)

Today I am sharing some slimline cards that I created while guest designing for Divinity Designs. I absolutely love ALL of their new slimline dies! These dies make creating slimline cards easy and fun.

Slimline Wedding Card

For this card I started with the slimline card base die. I die cut it out of Hammermill 100# cover stock. I die cut a matting rectangle in a shiny, gold stock. Then I used the slimline flower petal background die. I die cut it out of white Hammermill 100# cover and a matte gold cover weight cardstock as well (not sure who makes this, but it is beautiful!). I knew I wanted to inlay some of the matte gold petals for this wedding card. I also used the DD Bride and Groom die and cut it out of the matte gold 3 times and stacked them together for dimension. I glued the bride and groom diecuts onto a rectangle and adhered it to my card.

Pet Sympathy Card

I needed a pet sympathy card, so I grabbed my go- to sentiment from the stamp set Never Forgotten. I think it is the perfect sentiment for this type of card. I also used the slimline cloud dies along with the slimline rectangles, scalloped rectangles, and card base. Cutting strips of color for the rainbow was super easy!

Slimline Pelican Card

This card was really fun to create! I loved coloring this pelican and the sentiments were so sweet, too. I really liked the sentiment “everything is better by the sea” that comes with the By the Sea Stamp/Die Duo…but I wanted to make the “by the sea” portion a bigger focal point. So I masked off that part of the sentiment and then die cut the letters using the alphabet dies from Divinity Design. This card makes me yearn for the sea!

I hope you will start slimming down and create some slimline cards. Be sure to check out all of the great slimline dies available at Divinity Designs!
