Happy Hippo Friday

I am so thrilled to have been asked to be a guest designer for The Rabbit Hole Designs. Today I am featuring the new Hippo Botanical stamp set from their May release. Isn’t that hippo the cutest?!?

Have you heard of Fiona the hippo? She was born prematurely at the Cincinnati Zoo, weighing only 24 pounds. Now she is a thriving, healthy hippopotamus who loves the camera!

I’m dedicating my card to Fiona. She is such an inspiration and I think the sentiment I selected is perfect for her!

I started creating my card by doing some ink smooshing with the latest Distress Oxide Ink, Salvaged Patina. It’s such a pretty color and I thought it was a nice color for water. Next, I stamped the hippo and leaf images from The Rabbit Hole Designs, Hippo Botanical with Momento Tuxedo black ink and colored everything with Copic Markers. I really love how Fiona turned out💗 I fussy cut all of the images so I could “float” them in the water. I die cut my inked background with a stitched rectangle and adhered it to a side-folding A2 card base. I decided I wanted to die cut some letters to spell out “ be you tiful”. Next, I decided where everything was going to be placed, so I could stamp the sentiment from the Turtle Botanical stamp set. I adhered my leaves and letters and then worked on my card flap. I wanted the pretty hippo to hide the sentiment for a little surprise.
